Delete your account and data

This page explains how to delete your Jottle account and the data held in it. Jottle is operated by Jottle Ltd (registered in England and Wales, company number 17254701, registered office 9 Vauxhall Road, Canterbury, England, CT1 1YZ).

It covers what gets deleted, what we have to keep and for how long, and how to ask us to delete your account if you can't sign in. For the fuller picture of how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

Delete your account from inside the app

The quickest way is from your own device, while signed in:

  1. Open Jottle and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. Type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account again.

That schedules your account for permanent deletion and signs you out. You don't need to contact us.

You have 30 days to change your mind

Deletion isn't instant, on purpose. For 30 days after you confirm, you can reverse it: just sign back in within that window and you'll see a banner with a Cancel deletion button. This grace period protects you against an accidental or impulsive tap.

After 30 days, an automated job permanently erases your data and the deletion can no longer be undone.

Can't sign in? Ask us to delete it for you

If you've lost access to your account and can't reach the Settings screen, email us and we'll delete it for you:

Send the request from the email address on the account so we can confirm it's you. If you can't, we may ask one or two questions to verify ownership before we delete anything; we keep that check to the minimum needed and don't ask for more than necessary. We'll action verified requests within one month, in line with UK GDPR.

What gets deleted

When the deletion runs, we permanently erase everything tied to your account, including:

What we keep, and why

A small amount of data is kept after the rest is gone, only where the law requires it:

None of this retained data is used for any purpose other than the legal one it's kept for.
